This workshop explores integrating contemporary movement into neoclassical ballet technique. It focuses on fluidity, release, and expressive qualities of contemporary dance within the classical ballet framework. Participants will engage in improvisation and choreographic exploration, combining neoclassical ballet and contemporary dance elements. Contact improvisation exercises promote organic movement, weight sharing, and partnering skills. Dynamic shifts, off-balance movements, and unconventional weight distribution challenge traditional notions of balance and stability. Musicality and interpretation are emphasized, allowing dancers to express different musical styles and moods. Participants will learn choreographies by Baris Enes Comak from Staatstheater Karlsruhe.
